Guest Speakers and Seminars

The Norwalk church regularly schedules guest speakers to conduct inspirational seminars. Below is a sample of past presenters who have shared their spiritual blessings with the congregation.

Elder Lincoln Steed, Editor of Liberty Magazine.
Elder Steed spoke of the necessity for Christians, in light of the events of September 11, to be diligent in preserving religious freedom in America.

Pastor Doug Batchelor, Pastor and Director-Speaker of Amazing Facts Radio Ministry.
Pastor Batchelor spoke on God's forgiving grace, and how ready God was to help us to be restored to His likeness.

Dr. Roy Gane, Professor of Hebrew Bible & Ancient Near Eastern Languages, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University
Dr. Gane spoke on several aspects of the sanctuary and judgment. He indicated that the judgment is God's vindication of Himself in His people. The Sanctuary was also shown to be God's way of demonstrating His love to the universe.

Pastor Stan Hickerson, Associate Pastor, Battle Creek Tabernacle, Battle Creek, Michigan
The Norwalk church welcomed back former pastor Stan Hickerson. He gave us a report on the work in Battle Creek, and on his work with the Adventist Village Project.

Barbara Herlan, Biblical Resource Center of Jerusalem
Ms. Herlan spoke on various aspects of Jewish culture and history as viewed through the Biblical record. She spoke about the life of Christ, and how the archeology supports and enhances the explanations of the events of His life.

Dr. Richard Davidson, Chairperson - Old Testament Department, Andrews University Theological Seminary
Dr. Davidson spoke on the Imprecatory Psalms, those Psalms where David is cursing his enemies. Dr. Davidson showed that these Psalms, far from representing a faulty theology, take us into the very heart of the covenant, with its blessings and curses, into the heart of the covenant-keeping God, and ultimately into the heart of the gospel. It was revealed that only those who have committed the "unpardonable sin" receive these "just retributions."

Elder Larry Caviness, President of the Southern California Conference
Elder Caviness makes a point during his Sabbath sermon.
